Ruthie Sears

She married Jerry Wayne Sears on August 3, 1958 and to this union two sons were born: Jim and Lonny.

Ruthie enjoyed the rewarding life of farming near Arbela, Missouri, raising both livestock and row crops for 25 years before opening an upholstery shop near Memphis, Missouri. She served as a board member at the Gorin United Methodist Church for more than fifteen years, where she was an active member for 20 years.

 "Brippy", as she was well known by, was dedicated to her family. She followed her grandsons to every high school sporting event and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. Ruthie loved to hunt and sew, and she made many quilts for her friends, family, and community. When she could she enjoyed starting her day at the coffee shop visiting with her friends. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry, her son, Jim, and her siblings Pauline, Virgil, Ilene, Ila, and Gene.

She is survived by her son, Lonny Sears of Wyaconda, Missouri; grandchildren Kelsey Sears of Memphis, Missouri, Rod Sears and his wife Caley of Memphis, Missouri, Kylee Root Quayle and her husband Eric of Cairo, Missouri, and Sabe Sears and his wife Ashley of Rutledge, Missouri; great- grandchildren Izabella, Jackson, and Everley of Memphis,Missouri, Emmett and Lettie of Memphis, Missouri, Wilhelmina of Cairo, Missouri, and Hallie, Ellie, and Mollie of Rutledge, Missouri; along with her sisters, Martha, Carol, and Lilly.

Memorial services for Ruthie Sears, 82, of Kahoka, MO formerly of Memphis, MO will be at the Payne Funeral Chapel Monday morning, 2/26/2024, at 10:30 A.M. with visitation being held one hour before the service at Payne's.   Please sign the guest register
