Paul Mallett

Paul William Mallett, 82, of Edina, Missouri passed away February 25, 2016, at the Knox County Care Center in Edina, Missouri.

The son of Leonard and Bessie (Kennison) Mallett, he was born March 18, 1933, in rural Scotland County, Missouri.

On May 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Burton at Brunswick, Missouri and to this union four children were born.

He was raised in the Greensburg community and attended Myers Rural School eight years before graduating with the Class of 1952 at the Memphis High School. He then went on to serve in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. After Paul was discharged he returned home to the family farm known as the Leonard Mallett and Sons that later was called the Mallett Brothers Farm.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Edina, MO, three children: Billy (Tracy) Mallett of Edina, MO, Pam (Randy) Doss of Novelty, MO, & Bob (Kathleen) Mallett of Liberty, MO;  five grandchildren:  Jason (Regina) Doss, Andrea (Sam) Rueter, Aaron Mallett, Brody Mallett & Max Mallett;  two great-grandchildren:  Adalynn Doss & Karter Doss; two sisters:  Georganna Lister & husband Glen of Memphis, MO, Lynda Matlick of Keokuk, IA; two sisters-in-law: Anne Mallett of Greensburg, MO & Delma Mallett of Troy, MO as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brian Dale Mallett, four brothers, Bill, Donald, Hillis and Earl Dane Mallett, one sister, Doris Rhodes, two brother-in-laws, Clelon Rhodes and Charles Matlick along with one sister-in-law, Betty Mallett.

Memorials in his memory are to the Greensburg Willing Workers Club or the Greensburg Cemetery Association in care of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
