Gerald V. "Jerry" McNamar

January 3, 1946 — March 9, 2016

Gerald "Jerry" Vincent McNamar, 70, of Terrell, TX passed away early Wednesday morning, March 9, 2016, at his sister's home in Memphis after a short stay. The son of Rev. Frank and Alice Miller McNamar, he was born January 3, 1946 in rural Scotland County, MO.

He spent his childhood helping out on the family farm north of Arbela. attended rural school and later graduated from the Memphis High School with the Class of 1963.

Soon after graduating he enlisted in the military serving in the U.S. Airforce on November 29, 1963. He worked as a systems analyst until he received an Honorable Discharge in 1969.

He first married in 1967 and they had two children.

When he returned home he enjoyed playing softball and did so until

the mid 1980's.

Later he met the Love of his life, Carolyn Wilson, and were married on February 13, 1999.

He was preceded in death by his grand parents: Glen and Mae McNamar and Ernest and Susan Miller along with his father, Rev. Frank McNamar.

Survivors include the love of his life, Carolyn McNamar, of the home in Terrell, TX, three daughters: Stacie (Bob) Summers, Ana May Smith and Jennifer (Scott) Bollig; two sons: Chad (Tracy) McNamar and Jimmy (Brandi) Smith; nine grandchildren: Isaiah& Elizabeth McNamar, Reagan, Elizabeth and Charity Summers, Kylee & Journey Smith and Bryce & Coby Bollig: his mother: Alice McNamar;  three sisters: Carol Baird, Lenna (Roland) Bruce and Donna (Dean) Schultz; one brother, Bill(Mazie) McNamar along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( L.L.S.) and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555.Please sign the guest register.
