Ryan Justin Hilpert, age 42, passed away peacefully, in his sleep at home on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The son of Steve Hilpert and Robin Humphrey he was born in Kirksville, Missouri on July 26, 1979. Ryan was raised in Rolla, where he spent most of his adult life. He most recently resided in Kansas City area where he called home for the past few years.
Ryan started his career installing fiber optic systems for Sonic Corporation, all over the nation. Most recently he was employed with Dollar General holding the assistant managers position. He loved all aspects of his job. He never knew a stranger and had a deep rooted kindness that will be remembered most by his family, friends and co workers.
Ryan loved the time he spent with his children. He was looking forward to becoming a Grandfather this year. He had a love for music and movies. He could quote any song by the lyrics and name the artist. He enjoyed watching true crimes & forensic documentaries. He was an avid sports fan and a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs as well as the Chicago Bears.
Being a proud recovering alcoholic he never shied away from telling his story. He regularly attended the local Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and he personally provided a safe haven for others that struggled. Ryan's faith in God is undeniable as he knew that he would be received into the gates of Heaven.
Ryan was preceded in death by his dog and best friend "Cubby", Uncle, Stanley Humphrey, Maternal Grandparents, Basil and Faye Humphrey and Paternal Grandparents, Burton Eugene and Nelda Hilpert.
Surviving relatives include his mother: Robin Humphrey of Gladstone, Missouri; his step-father; David Hall of Holt, Missouri; father and step-mother: Steve and Sherry Hilpert of Memphis, Missouri; brother: Kris Hilpert of Dixon, Missouri; sons: Dylan Hilpert and Dustin Zandvliet both of Rolla, Missouri; daughter: Hope Hilpert of Rolla, Missouri; Special Friend, Chelle of Gladstone along with several other close relatives, co-workers and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the support of Alcoholics Anonymous (Smithville, Missouri Chapter) in care of Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.
