Kimberly Sue Kindler, at the age of 64, of Kansas City, MO, passed away at the St. Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City, MO on August 17, 2019 after being diagnosed with cancer and taking treatments to battle this terrible disease.
Kimberly was born July 17, 1955 to Jean Plenge and Dale Henner at the Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base Hospital in North Carolina.
She attended Hazelwood Central High School from 1970 to 1973 where she twirled the baton in the Marching Band and was a member of the Pom Pom squad. Then she attended Truman State.
Kimberly’s love for the water came at an early age as a top competitor in the butterfly stroke for the Village Square Swim Team. Many wonderful memories were made at her cousin's house in Memphis, MO where she would ride horses, three wheelers, went ice skating on the farm pond and drove cars before the age of 16 on the gravel country roads. Later, Kim would trail ride and compete in fun shows with her palomino horse named Major Flash boarded at Paddock Stables.
Kimberly met the love of her life, Rick Kindler while working for a national distributor of garment manufacturing equipment in Kansas City and they dated for several years before marrying on August 24, 1984 and shortly after moved to Edwardsville KS.
She loved cooking and gardening and was great at both. Their home always had one or two kitties (fur babies) which were spoiled rotten. Kim was still working in the garment industry, not just selling parts, but selling machines and equipment as well. She was a great salesperson.
Kimberly was a loving sister to Lisa (Mike) Thelen, Jill (Mike) Schlueter, Loving Aunt to Kyle and Brittany Thelen, Amanda and Chase Schlueter; Loving Great Aunt to Kendra, Gregory, and Carmella; Kimberly was the loving niece of Anna Lynn Kirkpatrick and the late Lynn Kirkpatrick and Robert (Carol) Plenge; Loving cousin of David (Mary Ann) Kirkpatrick, Lynnette (Jeff) Dyer and Philip Kirkpatrick, Laurie(David) Dreesen and Robby (Megan) Plenge.
Kimmy was truly loved, we all will miss her dearly.
Memorial contributions in memory of Kimberly can be made to Wayside Waif (a no kill animal shelter), 3901 Martha Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137.
